Technology for monitoring & control of power plants by the grid operator and differentiation from other technologies
The term telecontrol technology (RTC) describes technologies that enable the remote monitoring and control of energy systems. In particular, this includes reading out current production and limiting active and reactive power, but the possibilities are many and varied.
The prerequisite for implementing FWT with Amperecloud is always an installed Amperecloud log. In addition to any telecontrol systems (FWA) and gateways installed by the grid operator or third-party providers for telecontrol technology, additional devices may also be required.
Differentiation from other technologies
At Amperecloud, two technologies in particular are not included under the term telecontrol technology:
-
The use of (radio) ripple control technology or a (radio) ripple control receiver (FRSE). However, there are exceptions here, see (Radio) ripple control receiver.
- If a power plant is integrated into direct marketing (DVM) via Amperecloud Platform, this is simply referred to as remote control. In this case, only commands for limiting the active power are received and their instantaneous value is reported back. The connection for data transmission between Amperecloud Platform and the direct marketer is established directly via VPN. However, FWT can also be operated in parallel with DVM.
