SMA Sunny Tripower CORE1 (STP50-40/41)

Suitability

Direct marketing: Yes

Reactive power control: Yes

Device configuration

The inverter and the data logger must be in the same network. With the Teltonika RUT supplied, the "LAN" port (pay attention to the labeling) can be used for this purpose. It is recommended to set a fixed IP for the inverter. In the standard configuration of the supplied router, the range 192.168.1.10 - 192.168.1.99 can be used for this.

Then select "Network" as the connection type in the digital twin, enter the model of the inverter and the IP. Set the "Slave Id" to 3 and the port to 502.

With an optional communication module from SMA, the connection can also be made via RS485. In this case, please select "RS485" as the connection type and enter the RS485 port used in the log under "Port". The serial number of the device is mandatory for this. The "Slave Id" can be set to any value between 1-99 as long as it is only used once on the respective RS485 port.

⚠ Note:

The following configuration steps must be carried out on the device itself. A password for the login and an SMA Grid Guard password may be required for this.

For communication via Ethernet (recommended):

  • Device parameters -> External communication -> Ethernet -> Modbus -> TCP server -> Switched on - Yes
  • Device parameters -> External communication -> Ethernet -> Modbus -> UDP server -> Switched on - Yes

Independent of the communication medium used:

  • Device parameters -> System and device control -> Inverter -> Active power method -> Active power specification operating mode - External specification
  • Device parameters -> System and device control -> Inverter -> Reactive power method -> Reference value for reactive power specifications - Maximum active power WMax
  • Device parameters -> System and device control -> Inverter -> Reactive power method -> Reactive power method for active power output - Q, external specification OR cos phi, external specification (depending on grid operator specifications)
