Why was my datalogger temporarily blocked?

Your datalogger has been temporarily paused because it was repeatedly sending outdated data instead of current, up-to-date readings. Any data with timestamps older than three days is considered outdated. This can happen when a datalogger gets stuck re-uploading old historical files – for example, after a configuration change, a firmware issue, or a connection reset that causes it to resend data it has already delivered. To protect system performance and ensure all customers receive timely data processing, our platform automatically detects this behaviour and temporarily pauses the affected datalogger.

How long does the block last?

The block is fully automatic and temporary. It lasts six hours and is then lifted on its own – no action is required from you. Once the block expires, your datalogger will reconnect and resume uploading normally.

What should I do?

In most cases, you don’t need to do anything. The datalogger will resume normal operation after the six-hour pause. However, if the block keeps recurring, it may indicate that the datalogger’s configuration needs attention. Common causes include incorrect time or date settings on the device, or a firmware version that continuously re-sends historical files. If the issue persists, please contact our support team and we can help investigate further.

How recent does the data need to be?

To be processed normally, the data uploaded by your datalogger should have timestamps within the last three days. Any readings with timestamps older than three days are classified as outdated. A temporary block is only triggered when the vast majority of the data being uploaded is outdated over a sustained period – an occasional old file will not cause any issues.

Where can I see the block status?

You can check whether a datalogger is currently blocked by looking at the datalogger list in your cockpit. A red block icon will appear next to the datalogger’s name while the temporary pause is active. Hovering over the icon will show a brief explanation. The event is also recorded in your facility’s logbook for reference.
