Instructions for Setting Up Communication with Huawei Inverters

Before you begin configuration, make sure you have thoroughly read and reviewed the following knowledge base pages:

The Dongle

The dongle is a small device, about the size of a USB Wi-Fi stick, that is connected to the inverter to allow for wireless configuration.

Important: The dongle must not remain connected during normal operation!

Special Considerations for Huawei Inverters

  1. Bus Address:

Some Huawei inverters have issues when using bus address 1. Therefore, if no data is being transmitted, start directly with bus address 2 or higher.

  2. RS485 Terminal Block:

Make sure to use the RS485_1 terminal block.

  3. Stop Bits:

In Huawei systems, stop bits are referred to as bus frames.

Example Setup for RS485 Communication

Inverter Settings:

  • Inverter 1 → Bus Address 1 → RS485_1
  • Baud Rate: 9,600
  • Protocol: Modbus Slave
  • Parity: None → 8N1 (8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit)

RS485 Wiring:

  • Pin 1 (RS485A IN): Green → Logger RS485-1 A
  • Pin 3 (RS485B IN): White (from green cable) → Logger RS485-1 B
