Guide for internet connection and network integration
Amperecloud services fundamentally require an internet connection. Additionally, a properly configured network may be required for communication with devices such as inverters and meters.

Internet Connection for the Amperecloud Log and Remote Maintenance
As a rule, an Amperecloud Log is delivered with an LTE router of the type Teltonika RUT241, equipped with a SIM card that connects to all German networks. This is used solely to allow the Log to connect to Amperecloud servers and to be remotely maintained.
(See Mobile Network Provider & SIM Card for Amperecloud’s LTE Router).
The router must always have (LTE) reception, and neither the device nor the SIM card may be replaced with another model. If this is not the case, remote maintenance cannot be performed, and not all services can be provided. For better reception, an external antenna can be connected.
It is not possible to operate the router supplied by Amperecloud directly with a fixed-line internet connection, as the router does not have an integrated DSL modem. However, after consultation, it is possible to establish an internet connection via an external router with a DSL modem. Through this connection, the Amperecloud Log can upload data to Amperecloud Platform even if the supplied router has no reception; however, remote maintenance is not possible via this connection.
Internet Connection for Third-Party Devices
Connections from third-party devices such as external data loggers or remote-control systems must not run through the Amperecloud router. The customer must implement technical measures to ensure this. If data volume is consumed due to noncompliance, no connection to the plant is possible until additional data is purchased, which may incur extra costs.
If third-party devices require an internet connection, a separate internet connection and router (e.g., with LTE modem) must be used. The router must be configured as a gateway for all devices, except for the Amperecloud Log, the Amperecloud router, and optionally other third-party devices.
Network Configuration and Further Notes
Using the provided credentials, the router can be configured. By default, it is accessible via LAN at 192.168.1.1/24
and functions as a DHCP server.
The Amperecloud Log can only communicate with devices in the same subnet.
The use of the 192.168.4.0/24
subnet should be avoided due to possible address conflicts.
Amperecloud must be informed of hardware and software configuration by the customer to ensure reliable operation.
Representation of Network Topologies
Figure 1 shows Option 1, the standard network setup from firmware version 1.5 of the Log. The Log should be assigned a static IP (e.g., via app).
If a higher separation of networks is desired, configuration according to Option 2 or other designs is possible upon request.
