1. Checking the IP address in the digital twin
- Access to the digital twin: Open the configuration interface of the digital twin.
- Compare the IP address:
- Check whether the IP address entered in the digital twin matches the IP address set in the inverter.
2. Default port for Modbus communication
- Check the communication port: The default port for Modbus TCP/IP communication is 502. Make sure that this is set correctly in both the digital twin and the inverter.
3. Slave ID / unit ID / USS address
- Matching the addresses: The slave ID (also called unit ID or USS address) must match the ID stored in the inverter.
- Open the communication parameters in the inverter and compare them with the settings in the digital twin.
Please note: There are sometimes fixed slave IDs for certain devices or inverter models with regard to TCP communication.
4. Static IP or DHCP
- Determine the IP assignment:
- Check whether the IP address of the inverter is assigned statically or via DHCP.
-
- If DHCP is currently being used, change the setting to a static IP and document the assigned address.
Recommendation: Use static IP addresses for inverters to ensure that the IP address is not changed in the event of a communication failure.
5. Network configuration
- Check the network:
- Make sure that the inverters and the logger are in the same network. For more information, read the following article:
