Introduction
Grid operators define a series of requirements for connecting an energy generation plant (EZA) to their control center using remote control technology. Amperecloud Control represents one of several components in the overall concept required for a remote control system. All components accessible to the Amperecloud Log in its role as an EZA controller (also called park controller) are included.
Further information can be found in the article Additional Services & Obligations.
Included Components
The primary task of Amperecloud Control is to provide measurement data on generated power and to control energy generation units (EZE), such as inverters. For this purpose, a connection from the Amperecloud Log to the EZE, meters, and other devices is required. Their connection is covered in the respective chapters on the Knowledge Base page for the Amperecloud Log.
Additionally, the Amperecloud Log must be able to establish a connection with the grid operator. For this, it is either connected directly to the remote-control gateway of the grid operator or via a remote-control system (FWA), which can also be provided by the grid operator or a third party.
Excluded Components & Measures
Amperecloud Control does not include the integration of components into the remote-control concept that cannot be read or controlled by the Amperecloud Log. This especially includes components for grid and plant protection (NA protection, also called protection technology), such as isolators (for emergency shutdown) and protection devices for detecting short circuits or earth faults.
Amperecloud Control does not include an on-site technician from Amperecloud. The connection of components can be easily performed in a short time by qualified technicians using the information provided by Amperecloud.
Implementation Steps
The services provided by Amperecloud include, among others, the following points:
-
Evaluation of the grid operator’s requirements
-
Provision of additional hardware (if applicable, at extra cost)
-
Creation of connection plans
-
Programming of the components
-
Testing of the remote-control technology together with the grid operator (“Bit-Test”)
Representation of the Remote Control Concept
Amperecloud provides an Amperecloud Log with peripherals and, if necessary (determined by Amperecloud), optionally an IO extension (akYtec). Amperecloud also specifies how the delivered components should be connected with the other devices in the plant.
The connection and operation of additional components are not performed by Amperecloud. The overall concept is defined by the grid operator, and the choice of additional components is determined by the plant installer.
In some cases, a direct connection of meters to a remote-control system is required; in other cases, their measurement data must be transmitted via the Amperecloud Log.
