      Instructions for Setting Up Communication with Fronius-Inverters

      Before you begin configuration, make sure you have thoroughly read and reviewed the following knowledge base pages:

      1. Requirements

      To enable communication with Fronius IG Plus models, a Fronius Datamanager card ("Datamanager 2.0") is required.

      • This must be installed in the master inverter,
      • All additional inverters must be equipped with a COM card.

      2. Wiring

      • The Modbus card acts as an interface and must be connected to the Amperecloud LOG via RS485.
      • The Modbus card forms a ring (SolarNet) via Ethernet with the COM cards in the other inverters.
      • The Fronius Datamanager 2.0 automatically detects all devices connected in the ring.

      3. Connection Check

      • The Datamanager 2.0 lists all connected devices.
      • If inverters are missing from the list, there may be a configuration or wiring issue within the Fronius SolarNet ring.
      • The functionality of the ring should be verified using the manual or by contacting Fronius Support.
      • Fronius recommends connecting a maximum of six inverters per Datamanager.
        • If more inverters are present, additional Datamanagers should be used to ensure reliable data transmission.

      4. Important Settings in Datamanager 2.0

      • The termination resistor must be activated.
      • The "SunSpec Model Type" must be set to "Int + sf".

      5. Connection Order

      • First, connect the master inverter.
      • Then, connect the slave inverters one by one.
      • When each slave is connected, its WiFi access point will automatically open.
